REFERENCE: TRI-CITY YOUNG MARINES DONATION REQUEST

Dear Valued Supporter:

We are contacting you today to ask for your financial support of the Tri-City Young Marines. The Young Marines is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 youth education program for boys and girls ages 8 through high school. The program focuses on character building through a combination of self-discipline, teamwork, leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. All of our activities emphasize the importance of honesty, courage, respect, loyalty, dependability, and a sense of devotion to God, country, community and family.

All Young Marines must first go through a recruit-training program, or boot camp, which is conducted over a thirteen-week period. Upon completion of this training, they earn the privilege of wearing the Young Marines uniform. This rigorous training period instills a sense of pride and personal accomplishment, which forms the basis of newfound confidence and self-esteem.

Young Marines participate in the training of new recruits; go camping, swimming, hiking, and biking; visit historic sites and military bases; and go on encampments. An encampment is a gathering of several units to share what they have learned, test their skills and compete with other Young Marines.

Your support of the Tri-City Young Marines will help ensure that all children, regardless of ability to pay, can participate and realize the benefits of this program. Any donation made will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

John J. Haeg

Executive Officer
